My names Kelly and I'm from America. I live in Russia as an expat, and, well, lots of interesting things happen to me. This blog is supposed to be about Pop culture, but really, its me trying to understand what's going on in this world where things our constantly changing and crazy ideas are being let loose. In my mind, the world is Wonderland, and I'm Alice.

Ok, so my birthday was pretty good. I went to brunch with my mom and sister, then we came home and hung out for a little while. Then we went and saw Knight and Day, and went to a really good Italian restaurant. After that I came home and opened my presents. It was pretty awesome. My cold is getting better, but is still bad :( Whatever. At least I had an awesome birthday :)

Being sick sucks. I am so sick of the smell of Vicks Vapor Rub and humidifier steam. Yeah, at least I can breathe now but still. Sitting over a humidifier all day and gargling salt water while your sisters and mom are out having fun with friends is horrible. I've googled how to get rid of a cold so many times that If I google it one more time and see "there's no way to cure a cold fast, so just relax and wait", I swear I will throw the computer across the room. Well, I'm gonna go take a bath and see if the steam will help a little bit more.
The reason I haven't blogged in a while is because the Internet has been down for almost 3 days. That means for 3 days i had no facebook, no email, and no blog. Anyway, My birthday is REALLY soon. Even though I have like no followers, if anybody can guess my birthday, I will... I'll give you a mind hug! :) I also have a really bad cold which sucks because I am most likely going to be sick on my birthday. :( Whatever, I mean, its your birthday which makes the day awesome times 10.

Ok, I'm going to the pool later... I like the pool, but it can get boring, especially when you have sisters that can sit out in the sun for 5 hours only moving to change sides, apply more sun tan lotion, and compare tan lines. They also only go into the pool when they are about to die of overheating. My mom is the exact same way. Boring right? Anyway, I have a summer resolution. I am going to go back to school really tan. It probably won't work out but whatever. Its worth a try.

So USA won against Algeria. YAY. But just to warn you, I'm not an over-obsessed sports freak. Just a proud American. Anyway, I really want to start posting pictures that I take on this blog. I'm hoping to get a camera from my parents for my birthday. My birthday is really soon so I should start uploading them in a couple of days. Or not...
Ok, I'm watching the FIFA World Cup. The game that's about to start is USA vs Algeria. Being a true born American, you can probably guess who I'm rooting for. I lived in England for a while so unless their playing USA, I semi root for them... More for America though. I also liked South Africa, Ghana, Namibia etc. Their pretty awesome.

So I just thought of something... Summer sucks without friends. Summer without friends is like the beach without at least one overly sunburned, Bermuda shorts wearing tourist. I mean what are you supposed to do all summer without friends? Sit by the pool alone? Go shopping with alone? It sucks. Ok, so I feel like I should be doing something more productive than blogging, (not that blogging is bad) so I'm gonna go... Do nothing...
So I'm off to the market in about 15 minutes. You know what I love about American Supermarkets? Their HUGE. I mean, seriously, they have everything you will ever need to be happy. Yeah, Ipods and T.V's may not be sold there, but still. Whenever I go to an American Supermarket, I literally want to buy everything in the store. I'm sort of a products kind of girl, so you can probably find me in the section where shampoo's, makeup, and hair supplies are sold. You know what store I also love? Walmart. I have no idea why. Maybe its the fact that when I was little, I ran away from my mom in a Walmart, and nearly gave her a heart attack. Where did they find me? Sleeping in a car seat. I just like that its American, and that whenever I go to Walmart, I know that it will always remind me of America. :)
So, I'm here, in Colorado. Its nice here because I don't feel like I'm supposed to be doing anything, just relaxing and chilling. My birthday is coming up very soon, and for some reason I'm dreading it. It means I'm another year older which means a have to take even more responsibility for my actions than last year. Yeah, I don't like it. Well, I am suffering from like I said, Severe jet lag. Its 7:30 am, I have been up since 4 am watching reruns of America's Next Top Model, and talking to my dog. Around 5:50 am, my stomach started growling, so I went upstairs where I devoured half a carton of Orange and Mango Juice and a bag of Stacy's Simply Naked Pita Chips... Hopefully, dinner will be at home tonight, so at 5, when I start to crash, I can sneak off to my room without my mom noticing, then wake up at 3 am and start the process over again.

So I'm packing for my trip tomorrow. While packing I realised that when I pack, I have a pile of clothes to put into my suitcase. After I put all the clothes into the suitcase, I go and clean my room. What I noticed is that while I clean my room, I somehow find a bazillion more clothes to pack in my suitcase, thus making my suitcase 10 times heavier. I've also noticed I do the same thing with my carry on, which makes lugging it across miles and miles of airport wasteland 10 times more annoying.
So tomorrow I have to go on a long, boring, tiring plane ride. Two actually. One of them is international and one of them is domestic. Joy. I mean I love traveling and stuff but the planes are the worst. The invention of the plane and the fact that we can get from Paris to Los Angeles in 9 hours or less is amazing, but I just don't particularly enjoy plane rides. Anyway, The next couple of blogs I write will probably be written at 3 in the morning, because after I travel, I suffer from Severe jet lag, and it doesn't go on for a week like most people, my jet lag can go for as long as 2 weeks. Colorado here I come!

So I was watching the news this morning, hearing about all of the world issues, when the weather came on. I was like, yeah, great the weather. What could be more boring on the news, than the weather? Well, maybe the business section but whatever. So I was watching the weather, hearing about the really bad flood in China. The guy was saying how bad the floods were when he said something that made me laugh really hard. Epic Rain... It just made me laugh...
Ok, so I just had a thought. Singing in the shower is awesome. I don't know why, but i feel like I sing better in the shower, than i do in choir class. Maybe its the fruity smell of the shampoo, or the spotty shower curtain but i just feel happier singing in the shower. Maybe, I should try dancing in the shower along with the singing...
Ok, so basically, this is my first time blogging. Like ever. Yeah, I've read like a gazillion blogs, some good, some bad, but I am still kind of Nervous about this. I mean, what's there to be nervous about? Just a bunch of people you may or may not know, reading what you write and criticizing every typo, grammar mistake and punctuation error. Yeah, nothing to worry about.
